Most of you are not familiar with the Wiggles. They are a group of entertainers from Australia. They sing and dance to tunes like this one:
Fruit Salad
Fruit Salad,Yummy Yummy
Fruit Salad,Yummy Yummy
Fruit Salad,Yummy Yummy
Yummy Yummy
Yummy Yummy
Fruit Salad!Let’s make some fruit salad today (Uh huh uh)
It’s fun to do it the healthy way (Uh huh uh)
Take all the fruit that you want to eat
It’s gonna be a fruit salad treat! The first step
Peel your bananas
The second step
Toss in some some grapes
The third step
Chop up some apples
Chop up some melons
And put them on your plate
I shouldn’t mock them. In the year 2007 they earned 47 million dollars. Not bad. I think I will start writing my own songs. I’ve got lyrics started for a little ditty called “My Blanket”.
We placed Grace on the sofa and put a blanket on her legs like a Grandma in a nursing home.
Sam and I watched her sit like this for a few minutes. She didn’t move. I got my camera and made two exposures.
The expression on her face was a blend of surprise, shock, confusion and curiousity. That was my initial response to the Wiggles too.
The Wiggles got Lily’s attention too. She felt the need to turn towards the T.V. while eating her morning yogurt.

I also have a daughter named Lily. She is 1 1/2 and could sit and watch the wiggles for hours and hours. It’s not the worst kids show ever. I often find myself in the middle of teaching photography to 26 high school age kids and in the back of my mind I am singing…
5 Monkeys who
do what monkeys do
swinging in a tree
hanging over me!
Pretty catchy!
A sad thing. But true
