San Marino, California is a coveted, high-priced, exclusive neighborhood next to Pasadena. It’s residents include all sorts of rich folks and celebrities. Often in the movies the homes the characters live in are located somewhere in this oasis of surburbia. One of the most amazing things I noticed when I walked around with my Rolleiflex was the lack of “for sale” signs. I wonder if they aren’t allowed?
I took these photographs was the middle of March and the sun was warming my black shirt as I walked all over that place. Sam was sleeping in the rental car. For some reason she didn’t want to “walk all over a neighborhood looking for cool homes to photograph”.
Each of these places would sell for 2 to 5 million dollars. Click here to investigate some listings, if you’re in the market.
Other postings in my Residence series include images of Emmett, Idaho, Lemon Grove, California and Oak Park, Illinois.

Just wondering….Which image is your favorite?
I can’t see any pictures today. I’ve seen all the others you post but today they are missing.
Let me look into it. Thanks for telling me..
WordPress is having issues. Just look a little later.
I like study 9, but it’s because it reminds me of Father of the Bride.
I like your shadow in image 6. I love the way the street looks in #7. And my favorite house is #13.
#5 looks so out of place, a little crackerbox that would be at home on a side street.
Number 9 is totally the Father of the Bride house. I LOVE San Marino, so beautiful!!
